A show I'd like to recommend.

Lately, I've been really into tv shows and there are many I would recommend, but I think that if everyone should watch is something, it has to be The Wire, it's considered by many the best series ever made, and once you watch it you can really see why.

This show aired 18 years ago but today it's still as relevant as ever as it does a very accurate critique of the different American institutions, such as the police force and the educational system among others. It was created by the journalist David Simon, who worked for 13 years in a newspaper from Baltimore, the same city where the series is set.

It has many iconic characters since it doesn't really have a protagonist. It also contains many stories whose common thread is the wiretaps that a police group carries out on groups of drug traffickers. Its main focus is to show a realist view of life in the city of Baltimore, one of the cities with the higher crime rate and marginal neighborhoods of America.

Despite dealing with such complicated issues, it is a very funny series with really good writing, so you quickly get involved in the plot. It's streaming on HBOGo if you want to give it a shot.
